Time Drops #92: Week of March 16, 2025

Image
Content Calendar Announcement, Week of March 16, 2025 by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. the Ticketmaster I'm ten episodes into the Punk Hazard arc of  One Piece , and that speculator's joy I felt last week is still going strong. It led me to look into the Dressrosa arc (not to get any spoilers, just to fill out future time expectations)...which I am unprepared for the unprecedented size of. Between Canon, Anime Canon, and Mixed Canon/Filler, it clocks in at over a hundred episodes, so don't expect the weekly Multi-Piece output I had when there was a review backlog to work with. I probably won't have a Punk Hazard review ready for several weeks, and that's only about forty episodes. But because I've been taking notes as I watch, I promise it won't be such a point of procrastination like Fishman Island was. In other news, I'm on  Instagram  now. I've had the profile for awhile, but I just did my first post on Thursday. Also, I just realized that I've been...

Just the Ticket #173: Martial Law II - Undercover

Image
Article by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. The Ticketmaster. It's week two of March- al Law Month , Ticketholders! I was going to compose this Monday afternoon, but instead I decided to clean up my  Facebook  by unfriending some accounts that I added in the past to boost my analytics (but they were just click farms and thirst traps). In the process, I ran across a bunch of names and faces that I recognized from junior high school, and I went down a more genuine, positive rabbit hole than before. I don't know if it will help my readership numbers better than a bunch of international randos, but the discovery and nostalgia (even from recognizing the names of guys who bullied me back then) made procrastinating on this review worth the spiritual effort. It felt good, and I feel even better for it. That said, what do I have to do to get you all reading my stuff again‽ Is One Piece not enough? Are Dragon Ball and Zenescope not enough? Is it the movie selections? My formatting? Word choi...

GFT Retrospective #89: The Dream Eater Saga #9 (Grimm Fairy Tales #63)

Image
by Sean Wilkinson, Retrospective Dreamer, Conflicted Ticketmaster. I began reading the issue that is up for review today, and hit upon an Editor's Note that referenced something I hadn't read yet, and I've been trying to adhere to a rule of chronological continuity as much as possible (which is why my Grimm Fairy Tales Volume Eight Omnibusted post also includes the Sinbad Crossover reviews even though the individual issue publication dates were years apart, and why I did that restructured Neverland post a few months back), so I was conflicted, as the byline says, about what I would even review here. I skimmed through the referenced Volume and found that the Retrospective would flow better if I kept going with the Dream Eater Saga rather than shoehorning in an entirely separate Volume of reviews (and I could write a better product with a two-week buffer instead of trying to blitz it in a few days). So, the second Volume of Myths & Legends will have to wait awhil...

Stay Tuned #57: Dexter - Original Sin

Image
Article by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a The Ticketmaster. Coming Original . Because it's March 11 , get it? Anyway, Ticketholders, I'm writing this two weeks after the "airing" of the final episode, and a week before publication, following a particularly physically demanding day at work, so it would make me very happy if you would please, for once in this slice of life, remember to  Become A Ticketholder for real if you haven't already, comment your thoughts at the bottom of this post, help out my ad revenue so I don't become a Florida Man, and follow me on BlueSky , Tumblr , Reddit , Facebook , YouTube , and LinkedIn to like what you see and receive the latest news on my content. Now, let's pop some smelling salts, open our eyes, and look at what the Dexter crew have done. I've frequently complained about two things in recent months. The first and most important is the real possibility that the country I grew up in and learned to love may implode under th...

One Piece Multi-Piece #10: Before the Skip

Image
by Wilkinson D. Sean, a.k.a. the Ambitious Animeister and Master Of Tickets. In November of 2023, I succumbed to "peer" pressure from fellow content creators,  Mother's Basement  and  Totally Not Mark , and began watching  One Piece  as a palate cleanser for  DanMachi  and  RWBY  (and especially for  Children Of the Corn ). I had no intention of giving it any critical attention at first because it was just a fun but daunting form of audio-visual therapy, and there wasn't much to talk about in the seasons before the die-hard fans say it "really gets good." I see where they're coming from, but I think it gets good a little earlier than that , and gets bad shortly after . My next effort in the One Piece  Multi-Piece  will be a review of the Fishman Island arc, which I have been putting off for quite some time because of my struggles to get through it, having things to say about other anime, financial challenges, and my hard pivot...
