Dragon Blog Super #20: On Universe 11

Image
Article by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. The Animeister This post wasn't scheduled in Saturday's Time Drops , but I got sucked into watching/listening to a YouTube video on the lore of the Street Fighter franchise on Sunday and it got me in a mood to do some speculation about Dragon Ball Super . From what I've seen and heard over the past year, there are some major shake-ups and power plays going on behind the scenes that are affecting how anime, manga , and video game content is being approached and will be approached in the future, such as the manga  adaptation of the Super Hero  movie (making this the first time a manga  has had filler?), the choice to keep to plots within Universe Seven for the time being, characters included in current mobile games, Xenoverse 2 , Super Dragon Ball Heroes , and the upcoming Sparking Zero , and the choice to go with the Daima  streaming series instead of adapting the post-T.O.P. arcs into anime form. Well, Daima  is more of a nostalgic choice

Time Drops #37: Week Of January 28, 2024

Image
Article by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. the Ticketmaster Greetings, Ticketholders! I have a pretty full month of content ready for February, including some weekly  Ticket Stubs and Anime Spotlight  reviews, all of which I composed throughout a single week in January. My intention is to spend February focusing on my last Marketing course at WGU so that I can return to a more robust content creation schedule in March. With respect to my paying job, I am down to only one day a week of stressfully making food for people who don't want it because the stress of the deli position and their stupidity make me into an asshole, and I now work the rest of my shifts in the frozen aisle, cleaning out our massively backstocked walk-in freezer, doing light maintenance around the store, filling in other stock positions as needed, and generally feeling a longer-term sense of accomplishment that I can literally feel in my bones because I'm pushing forty. I will keep the year-in-content list at the end

Just the Ticket #133: Pulp Fiction (List Lookback)

Image
Article by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. The Ticketmaster As announced in this Tuesday's NPO #28: The List (2024 Edition) , I plan to review twelve movies from my various Top Ten Best [Genre] Movies Of All Time lists (from a defunct social platform from twenty years ago) that I selected based on aggregated review scores and how much I actually wanted to talk about them regardless of score. Since these things come to mind by happenstance (I got my mother Pulp Fiction  for her birthday, and I saw it mentioned in that old post when I was deciding what to do for 2024, so, idea!) and it's still fresh in my mind, I made it the January selection for my  List Lookback  event. Before we continue, Mr. Wolf reminds you to  Become A Ticketholder  if you haven't already, comment at the bottom of this post about how good the shakes are at Jack Rabbit Slim's, help out my ad revenue as you read, and follow my footsteps on  Tumblr ,  Reddit ,  Facebook , and  LinkedIn  to like what you see and

GFT Retrospective #58: The White Knight

Image
Article by Sean Wilkinson, Grey and Rusty. That's a reference to the character being focused on in today's GFT Retrospective , as well as his RWBY  re-imagining in the recent Volume Nine of that series. Please remember to  Become A Ticketholder  if you haven't already, comment at the bottom of this post, help out my ad revenue as you read, and follow me on  Tumblr ,  Reddit ,  Facebook , and  LinkedIn  to like what you see and receive the latest Grimm news on my content. Tales From Wonderland Volume 3  was the last Trade Paperback that I started writing reviews for when the financial and temporal pressures of my gambling addiction, comic book collecting obsession, and "any way you can" digital trade editing and compilation project most heavily began to weigh upon my soul back in 2018. Today's issue up for review is the last completed critical piece I had written from that five-year-old backlog of content. As I have mentioned in the recent past, I have since

NPO #28: The List (2024 Edition)

Article by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. The Ticketmaster a.k.a. The Trooper? New Year, new banner, Ticketholders! I didn't have one for NPO / New Piece Offerings  yet, so I Googled "Piece Of Mind," and the Iron Maiden album cover was the most popular result. I am not familiar with their work; I'm just giving credit. There was also an Iron Maiden font available online (the same place I got the Dragon Ball font for my Dragon Blog Z/Super  banners), so into PhotoShop it all went, and whoever Bob is, he is now your uncle. Before we continue, please remember (and remind your friends, family, and your new Uncle Bob) to  Become A Ticketholder  if you haven't already, comment at the bottom of this post, help out my ad revenue as you read, and follow me on  Tumblr ,  Reddit ,  Facebook , and  LinkedIn  to like what you see and receive the latest mental fragments of news on my content. As I have often said in the past, I began this whole review "business" back in 2004

Dragon Blog Super #19: What If GOKU Was NEVER BORN? (New Year's Re-Edited Recap)

Image
Article by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. A  MasakoX  Fan Happy New Year, Ticketholders and Masakists! Not to be confused with masochists, of which I am one for subjecting myself to the Children Of the Corn  franchise and keeping this series going for over a year. Do Dragon Balls help with New Year's resolutions? Oh, well; while I can't ask the Eternal Dragon to make me a more prolific creative voice, pay off my gambling and college debts, or give me the body of a well-tanned, high school swimmer like I was from 1999 to 2001,  I can ask you fine Earthlings to please give me your energy by clicking the Follow button to  Become A Ticketholder  if you haven't already, commenting at the bottom of this post, helping out my ad revenue as you read, and following me on  Tumblr ,  Reddit ,  Facebook , and  LinkedIn  to like what you see and receive the latest news on my content. As I did last year , I thought I'd kick off 2024 with a retconned recap of my long-running take on one of Ma
