Anime-BAWklog: Finished Series A-Z (Part II)

Greetings, Weebotaks! Welcome BAWk to the Anime-BAWklog , where I'm trying to clear the  Anime-BAW  clog in my brain one letter at a time. Last installment, I covered every title I could think of that I reviewed from A to C (plus a few numeric selections). Work and college prevented me from finishing this post in time for the last two AniMondays, and I apologize for not getting the social media announcements done in a timely fashion last time, either. But I've reached a point where I can comfortably bang this out without worry, so here goes, starting with a few A's that I neglected to mention last time: Arte --This series just wrapped its dub release last week, and I enjoyed it enough to give it its due respect here. Arte  is about a girl of noble birth living in Italy during the Renaissance period. Arte  also happens to be that girl's name, as well as how you say what her passion is in Italian. Arte likes art. A lot. And she's great at it. Unfortunately, Renaissan

Happy Post-Apocalypse Day, Ticketholders! Actually, we are still in the midst of the closest thing that life has yet come to imitating the often-filmed art subject of a zombie apocalypse. I mean, let's run down the checklist really quick: Viral Pandemic of suspected, but unknown origin with unprecedented effects on the human population? Check! Brain-dead infected people walking around and infecting the rest of us? Check! A dangerously sufficient portion of the population ignoring expert advice and thinking it's all a hoax? Check! An incompetent world leader spreading disinformation to quell panic? Check! Rioting in the streets anyway? Check! Brutal, redneck police stereotypes? Check! Survivalists looting grocery stores so they can horde supplies? Check! Commentaries on unchecked racism and consumerism? Check! So, yeah. We're all officially in a real-life approximation of a zombie movie. The good news (at least, the good news for those of you who didn't act like babies a

Happy Ani-Monday, Weebotaks! Another year has come and gone since my last Anime-related post, and much has changed in the world — to severely understate the obvious. In March of this year, I was downsized from my closing shift in the local supermarket deli because of COVID-19. In June, I was welcomed back as a full-time, opening stock clerk, and continue to endure the day-to-day rebellious stupidity of "free Americans" who refuse to socially distance themselves or wear face coverings, even as they cough and sneeze on their hands, touch everything in sight, and let their numerous, unprotected children run amok. Fortunately, I and all others there employed strike the balance between being brave and/or stupid enough to work in such an environment, and being intelligent enough to otherwise protect ourselves and our clientele by regularly sanitizing all touchable surfaces and wearing masks and, in select departments, gloves. But you didn't come here to read my rantings about t

Happy Halloween, Ticketholders! College is getting harder, leading me to question my career choices despite the fact that my true passion is looking less and less lucrative with each passing day. That passion, of course, is writing, in all of its forms. I have started several new posts over the past year, and am making incremental progress on my two novels, but between school, work, and a precarious personal life that I have made all the more precarious by my own selfish hands, I have lacked the drive, focus, and time to finish any of them. Which brings me to today's offering--an offering of personal redemption and torture. As I had previously done with Tremors , I have taken it upon myself to review another cult horror franchise that is as inexplicably entertaining as it is creatively mediocre. Or mediocrely creative; I haven't decided yet. If the title of this post didn't give it away, I'm talking about the five movies and one web series that make up Critters . Origin
