Time Drops #60: Week of July 7, 2024

Article by Sean Wilkinson,
a.k.a. the Ticketmaster

Welcome to the week to come, Ticketholders! And the sixtieth issue of Time Drops!
At least, I hope this is how the week to come is going to go. Over the past month, I have had to push a piece of content back twice because of people who don't want to be as mature as a forty-year-old virgin with no driver's license and a mountain of gacha debt who just graduated college online from his parents' house and fries pre-cooked food in a grocery store.
As for blog business, Jurassic Joy Ride fell a few hundred views short of being as popular as the Midnight Run May-hem, and July (no real theme, but I am reviewing three Roland Emmerich movies this month and revisiting a movie about drinking alcohol, so...make up your own theme?) is starting off pretty slowly, probably because of the early federal holiday and my unscheduled content inconsistency. But keep being awesome, and if you stopped being awesome, start being awesome again because I like numerical validation for my efforts. If only views were money....
Speaking of, the financial pressures and job satisfaction issues are still there, and I will still be working on finding secondary or alternative employment going forward even though my hours will be picking up again because one can only give the professionally unreliable so many chances.
I have a good, working resume drafted up for the jobs I'm looking for; I just need the financial means and energy to work, pay my expenses, write content for this blog, and start applying and tweaking my resume, which I am super-rusty at after working in the same store for over six years (an employment record for me that I should be more proud of than I am).

Anyway, as usual, I will keep up the year-in-content list at the end of these posts going forward, in addition to these weekly announcements. So please read beyond the weekly content calendar for more information on the year to come, and remember to comment at the bottom of this post, Become A Ticketholder because I know you haven't already, help out my ad revenue as you read, and follow me on social media at the links below to like what you see and to receive the latest news on my content and calendars thereof.
Here it is:
  • Monday (July 8) - Anime Spotlight #37: Kaiju No. 8
  • Wednesday (July 10) - GFT Retrospective #69: Halloween Edition 2010 (Nice!)
  • Thursday (July 11) - TBT Anniversary (on TumblrRedditFacebook, and LinkedIn): I'm History
  • Friday (July 12) Just the Ticket #150: Independence Day: Resurgence
  • Saturday (July 13) - Time Drops #61: Week of July 14, 2024
In addition to the List Lookback that I announced in NPO #28, here's what I have definitively scheduled--pending any unforeseen circumstances (like deaths, compromised transportation, financial complications, etc.)--for the year so far (updates pending in future Time Drops as I make more decisions):
  • Weekly Regulars:
    • GFT Retrospective Zenescope - Omnibusted
    • DB What Ifs / Anime Spotlight One Piece Multi-Piece
    • TBT Anniversary
  • Thursday, July 25 - Ticket Stubs: Sideways (comparative)
  • Wednesday, September 4 (Jason David Frank's birthday) - Just the Ticket: Legend Of the White Dragon
  • Thursday, November 28 - Ticket Stubs: House Of Wax (comparative)
  • R.L. Stine October (Viewer Beware!):
    • Just the Ticket: Fear Street Trilogy
    • Stay Tuned: Goosebumps Classic
    • Stay Tuned: Goosebumps Disney+
    • Just the Ticket: Goosebumps Double-Feature (Halloween)
  • Thanksgiving - Just the Ticket: Thanksgiving
  • Christmas - Just the Ticket: Maniac Cop Trilogy
I would like to get Zenescope's blessing first, but I'm considering compiling my GFT Retrospective reviews so far into an e-book form. Let me know what you think about this idea down below.

Ticketmaster,
Out.
