Happy New Year, Ticketholders!
And I'm not just saying that as a stock holiday greeting; 2025 left much to be desired from a real-world perspective, to be polite and non-specific about things, and I want everyone (who isn't a delusional sociopath, a sex criminal, a greedy asshole billionaire, a political assassin, a rage-baiting grifter, or any combination or supporter thereof) to make something new and happy out of this year that lies ahead.
For me personally, 2025 was full of mixed blessings. I got a new phone, my employer finally recognized and rewarded me for my contributions and loyalty, I have a co-worker who's worth a damn (but the two who aren't decided to quit, and bodies are bodies at the very least), and I made some long-needed renovations to my personal space that helped me feel more productive than I had in awhile.
As a result of my improved finances, I was able to contribute to my family more, and make significant progress on my debt obligations. And from a blogging standpoint, I had a pretty prolific year despite not planning things out as much as I did in 2024. For me, 2025 was the year of William Lustig, Larry Cohen, Neal H. Moritz (Urban Legend, I Know What You Did Last Summer), Martial Law, and anime. Lots of anime. And international movies with subtitles. And H.P. Lovecraft. And books. Yeah; 2025 was the year I brought back the Cover Charge series because I found reasons to read and talk about books again, which was awesome, even when I hated what I was reading. I rediscovered the X-Men Animated Series this past year, opened myself to other cultures with Sinners and the works of Akira Kurosawa (Seven Samurai and Yojimbo), found pain and enjoyment in a variety of 70s and 80s trash, and spent an entire season of the year in Wonderland.
My social media underwent a few changes as well, as I was forced to cut ties with Reddit because of their asinine contribution policy (and being completely scrubbed and muted from the platform without notice), but I expanded my presence to BlueSky, Pinterest, and Instagram (the latter of which I have fun with because I get to brand my promotions with relevant music, and it kind of forced me to up my thumbnail game). I'd still yet to reach the viewing traffic heights I had in 2024 (especially with BlogPros acting up this past month and into a new billing cycle, and I'm still chasing that ten-thousand-view monthly milestone), but you've all been incredible at the most seemingly random times, and as always, I thank you and ask that you spread word of my content as much as possible so that I can chase even bigger milestones in the future.
Which brings me to my 2026 Blogger Resolutions. In addition to hitting ten thousand views in at least one month this coming year (that's a Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely goal, right, folks?), I resolve to make my next publication milestone something special (I already have something in mind), update my Time Drops banner to a higher resolution image, and finally tackle the arc that has tested the patience of many a One Piece fan. Yeah; I'm resolving to go big this year....
So now, let's talk about The Plan (and the other plans surrounding it). If you haven't figured it out from the movie I intended to review tomorrow (I'm moving it to next week because I feel stressed out and I need a break, so, sorry that I'm having to break resolutions and promises on the first day of the year...), or my previous hints that I'm doing something "huge" in 2026 (plus it was in the Future Plans outline in almost every 2025 Time Drops), this is the year that I will have published my thousandth post on Blogger, and I've decided to celebrate with a Godzilla Year!
That's right, Ticketholders; I'm making a pun! But also, throughout 2026 (a.k.a. Goj-Year-ra, if you can't read Japanese), I'll be reviewing every Japanese Godzilla movie (Minus...One, because I reviewed that already). That's this list of thirty-two movies, according to Wikipedia:
- Godzilla
- Godzilla Raids Again
- King Kong vs. Godzilla
- Mothra vs. Godzilla
- Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster
- Invasion of Astro-Monster
- Ebirah, Horror of the Deep
- Son of Godzilla
- Destroy All Monsters
- All Monsters Attack
- Godzilla vs. Hedorah
- Godzilla vs. Gigan
- Godzilla vs. Megalon
- Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla
- Terror of Mechagodzilla
- The Return of Godzilla
- Godzilla vs. Biollante
- Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah
- Godzilla vs. Mothra
- Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II
- Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla
- Godzilla vs. Destoroyah
- Godzilla 2000: Millennium
- Godzilla vs. Megaguirus
- Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack
- Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla
- Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.
- Godzilla: Final Wars
- Shin Godzilla
- Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters
- Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle
- Godzilla: The Planet Eater
Provided Godzilla: Minus Zero is digitally available by the end of 2026, a thirty-third week might also be taken up. That leaves twenty (or nineteen?) spots for other movies. I originally wanted to pack this year with wall-to-wall movies, but I'm keeping it to reviews that I promised to do or want to do because my sanity and sleep schedule depend on it right now. So here's the rest of the Just the Ticket lineup for 2026:
- January:
- Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare
- Bambi: The Reckoning
- February:
- Together
- April:
- Re-Animator
- July:
- Bullworth
- Superman
- August:
- Sanjuro
- October:
- Terrifier
- November:
- Knives Out Trilogy
- Feast Trilogy
- December
- When A Stranger Calls (Back)
- Black Christmas (1974, 2006, & 2019)
I will also have Anime Spotlight, Cover Charge, and Stay Tuned content scheduled for each week, as well as a continuation of TBT pushes and Time Drops posts (following the format for the latter that I began in October), and at the end of every single one, I'll be including a number that counts down to the big project I want to release for my thousandth post.
Thank you again for Staying Tuned with me on this ambitious journey, and as always, please remember to Become A Ticketholder if you haven't already, leave a comment at the bottom of this post and any others you have opinions about, help out my ad revenue as you read so I can resolve to be a solvent part of the solution, and follow me on BlueSky, Tumblr, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and LinkedIn to like what you see and receive the latest news on my wonderful content.
