Weirdly, Ticketholders, this is another issue that I'm glad to have the time to talk about in depth in a positive light even though it has no real bearing on the main story and isn't meant to be taken seriously. Access and research proved difficult for this review, as the comic is unavailable through ComiXology (so I had to resort to other means of reading it on short notice...only to find it available on ComiXology two days before posting this), and most efforts to track down the real identities of the main characters ended in frustration because this is a thirteen-year-old comic book, obscure searches give Google a digital aneurysm, and Gemini/Lens is more artifice than intelligence. Aside from the celebrity death trifecta of Ozzy Osbourne , Malcolm-Jamal Warner , and Hulk Hogan, everything has been coming up Ticketmaster this past week. For those who are wondering about my thoughts on those deaths, though, Ozzy and Malcolm hit the hardest. MJW was definitely the bigger shock because we've known for a long time (since at least the first season of The Osbournes , which I have every season of on DVD, and it's amazing) that Ozzy was in bad shape. When the news of his death hit, I immediately thought back to the 2019 American Music Awards and his appearance during the "Take What You Want" performance , where he mostly sat on a throne and waved his arms to the music. For the 187th issue of Just the Ticket , I could have been reviewing 187 with Samuel L. Jackson . But instead, I had to force myself to watch Curse III: Blood Sacrifice , the second "sequel" in what someone with a saintly amount of generosity might call an "anthology series" if they didn't know any better. I have nothing of preamble to say other than to express my gratitude that I'm not overloaded with extra content and life pressures this week, so I don't have to rush with this review. Continuing from one of the worst-written, most oddly drawn, disconnected issues I can remember , the Zenescope team come into their seventy-fifth mainline issue in peak form, and it is a special one, folks! After Tuesday's review of Poker Face , I haven't been able to get Blues Traveler's "Hook" out of my head. Add that to the abundance of energy beverages and caffeine I've been ingesting so I can force myself to consume, produce, and promote content on the regular around my new work schedule, the heat, my days off not really being days off because adulting still needs to be done on top of that, and my sudden cravings for food that isn't good for me, and yeah, my brain is an overstimulated, volatile, but numb and exhausted ball of goo and chemicals this week. In my Martial Law ( Mission Of Justice and Martial Outlaw ) and Last Horror Film reviews, I talked about the tendency of distribution companies of the era to rebrand similar but unrelated movies as in-name-only sequels to their more popular films to boost circulation and profits for stakeholders. While I understand the purpose of the practice, and (in these years following the recent SAG-AFTRA strike) I sympathize with the need for the end result, it is still a quasi-illegal act of deception: an (at the time) industry-accepted act of international fraud. It's like bundling Final Destination: Bloodlines with a penny, a game of Mouse Trap , and a G-1 Optimus Prime full of Lincoln Logs and calling it the 4D Experience Special Edition .
