Zenescope - Omnibusted #32: Alice In Wonderland

Image
Article by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. The Omnibuster Since this is the last week of April and the Wonderland comics have at least two rabbits in them somewhere, it seems like the perfect time to fall (or to be more seasonally accurate, spring ) back into the franchise with an expansion and continuation of the chronologically confusing comic book, Tales From Wonderland #3: Alice . I've crossed time, dimensions, and the internet using the tactile, reflective surface of my smartphone, dodging its immortal sources of madness to copy, paste, and edit my original review of said issue here, all the way FROM October 9, 2017 ( GFT Retrospective #28: Alice ): To say the Alice One-Shot has a wonky sense of time would be a massive understatement of how confusing the mechanics of Wonderland are. To simply say that it doesn’t have to make sense because it’s Wonderland is to defeat the enjoyment of the progressive and mostly logical story that the writers have tried to craft on top of it (or thro...

Anime Spotlight #45: That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime (2025 Update)

Article by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. the Animeister Since this is the month of Easter and Easter is, aside from its pagan origins as a spring fertility festival, a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, I thought I'd follow up last week's bunny-themed return to the Anime Spotlight  with an update to my coverage of an anime where a salaryman gets resurrected into a medieval fantasy world as an overpowered, ovoid shapeshifter. Back in Anime Spotlight #6: That Time I Reviewed Comedy and Slimes  With Chuck Norris (FROM January 25, 2021) , I hadn't nailed down my format yet, I was late to the party in discovering Chuck Norris memes , and I reviewed two isekai  anime about slimes; one being the socially gross yet dishwater boring By the Grace Of the Gods  (which somehow got a second season I will never watch), and the other being That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime , which is a hilarious, intelligent, dramatic, action-packed mega-franchise from the mind of...

Time Drops #98: Week of April 27, 2025

Content Calendar Announcement, Week of April 27, 2025 by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. The Hard-Working Ticketmaster. Despite not having access to a car for the past two years, I've managed to function halfway decently in the world, including getting soil delivered and walking some plants home from my local grocery store so that I and those in my family with greener thumbs can be ready for the growing season. I did a good amount of tree-trimming this week, got rid of a ton of yard waste, and set up our planters (gophers are a good reason to have an aboveground - autocorrect suggested "abortion" here for some reason, as if it suspects I might be pregnant with gophers at the moment - garden, but that means the cats, birds, and squirrels can get to it more easily, too, so pick your pest, I guess). I'm still procrastinating on whacking the last few weeds, though.  Work hours are picking up again, so instead of not writing as much because I get lazy and depressed, I'll be wri...

Just the Ticket #176: The Day the Earth Blew Up - A Looney Tunes Movie

The Day the Earth Blew Up A Looney Tunes Movie Review Article by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. The Ticketmaster. I've spoken my Piece several times (most recently at the beginning of Monday's Anime Spotlight on Rascal Does Not Dream Of Bunny Girl Senpai ) on my feelings about what the empty heads atop Warner Bros. have done and plan to do to the company's animation division and history. It sucks, it hurts, and I don't want to talk about it anymore. Instead, I'll hope that you had a happy Easter this week and keep the celebration rolling with an extra course of pork and duck, brought to you by one of America's favorite condiments: Ketchup . Just please remember to stay away from any unusual chewing gum, and  Become A Ticketholder  if you haven't already, comment at the bottom of this post, help out my ad revenue as you read so I don't get shelved and stripped of my identity for an incompetent billionaire's tax write-off, and follow me on BlueSky , Tumblr ,...

Zenescope - Omnibusted #31: Myths & Legends Volume 2 (The Little Mermaid)

Article by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. the Omnibuster . Hello again, Ticketholders and other click-bait enthusiasts! Fish puns! And I hope everyone had a happy Easter despite all of the existential rage and misery I lavished upon you in the intro to Monday's Bunny Girl Spotlight . I plan to make it up to you on Friday when I review that Crazy Music movie that the catsup bottle made about the world exploding. But for now, things will have to stay a Little ... Grimm . And fishy, but only from the waist down. A pair of sexy legs with a giant fish head is just way too disturbing. Which is why we're covering more lighthearted topics today, like confidence scams, infidelity, prostitution, murder, cannibalism, bestiality, and slavery, so remember to please Become A Ticketholder if you haven't already, leave a comment at the bottom of this post, help out my ad revenue as you read so I don't have to sell my voice to an octopus, and follow me on BlueSky , Tumblr , Reddit , Facebook ...
