Financially speaking, said future continues to be bright for now. I still have terrible sleep habits, low energy and motivation on the days I don't work, and anxiety about the future, but my work hours have improved, so I'm feeling...better? More essential, maybe? As for this blog, I'm caught between symptoms of burnout and a compulsion to keep the content flowing as promised, but at the expense of further professional development. In these List Lookback  posts, I have often opened with a justification for why I chose certain movies to review in certain months, like One Night At McCool's  being a cheesy, twisted romance movie that I reviewed in February, Alien  being my April selection because of alliteration and its disturbing fertility imagery, The Faculty  being September's review because of Back to School season. Most of my choices came down to holiday theming and month-based alliteration or logically elastic punnery. I even reviewed Last Man Standing  in August because it was literally the last movie I hadn't decided on a month for yet. I decided this would be the movie series I would review for the holidays during last year's Christmas Special review of the Lethal Weapon  series because Tom Atkins , who played strong-armed father Michael Hunsaker in that series' first entry, also has a role in the Maniac Cop  trilogy. Also, the second movie takes place around Christmas, and the Maniac Cop series features some little gifts that I wasn't expecting to bring warmth to my heart the way they did. Financially, I have been forced to lower my expectations of what I want for Christmas this year, so I will settle for any extra hours I can get, and keep trying to get on as many Copywriting Nice Lists as possible so that I'm not crushed by financial responsibility in the new year.
