GFT Retrospective #115: Wonderland #7

Image
Article by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. The Retrospective Ticketmaster. As I'm writing this, it's Sunday afternoon following an incredibly stressful workday of being responsible for something important that I've never done by myself before, and when it was all behind me, I was greeted by the pleasant surprise of a 500-plus-view day before noon. Thank you so much to everyone on BlueSky , Tumblr , Facebook , Pinterest , Instagram , YouTube , and LinkedIn (and yes, even those of you who come by my content at random) for helping me start my roving weekend a little brighter than sunlight can currently provide in my part of the world. And thank you to Zenescope for starting off this week's issue by giving me so much to talk about. Wonderland #7 First of all, there's the cover art, starting with the Sean Chen and Sanju Nivangune cover (and not just because the line artist has the same first name as me). It's a whimsical take on The Birth Of Venus with Spades and Hearts ...

Time Drops #127: Week of November 16, 2025

Content Calendar Announcement, Week of November 16, 2025 by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. The Ticketmaster. No Effort November  continues, Ticketholders! Now with even less effort than before (which makes it Negative Effort November , but because it's impossible to make negative effort, that underflows back around to Nearly Infinite Effort November , I guess?) because I didn't have the energy to edit this after work yesterday even though it's basically a copypasta, and I'm stretching and coping and a lame set theory joke is the best I could come up with at three in the morning to justify this post's existence. Differentiation matters in this business I don't get paid for yet, after all. Sorry; having to work with the young adult human equivalent of an AI learning model who can't remember how to properly cook his own shoelaces is getting to me again...still. Anyway, in addition to continuing my single-issue GFT  Retrospectives on the Wonderland Ongoing series (b...

GFT Retrospective #114: Wonderland #6

Image
Article by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. The Retrospective Ticketmaster. Much like with Volume One , Volume Two of the Wonderland Ongoing series has no obvious discrepancies between the ComiXology version and the...version I downloaded One Piece at a time, so to speak. The reason for this is likely because the "patched" version is a peg-legged instance of the digital/ComiXology edition, rather than a meticulous scan of the physical trade. And seeing as how I don't have a physical copy or the time or money to acquire one in the next two days, I cannot speak to any difference in effort between the physical and digital editions. One thing of note, however, is that, around the time of the original release of Wonderland #8 (the third part of this five-issue Volume), Zenescope began using Digital Edition covers for their...digital editions of individual comics (which were just randomly selected Common retail covers with a Digital Edition mark in place of the "Cover" [l...

Time Drops #126: Week of November 9, 2025

Content Calendar Announcement, Week of November 9, 2025 by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. The Tired Ticketmaster. No Effort November continues, Ticketholders! Well, I actually am making some kind of effort, because as I've said, I'm using this month to prepare for December, in addition to continuing the single-issue GFT Retrospectives on the Wonderland Ongoing series (because the Fall Of Wonderland and Wonderland Winter continue, as well), keeping you updated on my progress on a weekly basis, and doing TBT '25 pushes on social media to promote my old posts one Thursday at a time. Speaking of progress updates, I've finished watching Rascal Does Not Dream Of Santa Claus and written a draft of the review, created a few assets for the X-Men Animated Series / '97 review (including a fun one for  Instagram  because I was struck by inspiration while listening to the theme song), read Wonderland #6 and curated some assets for that review, and curated assets for that a...

Zenescope - Omnibusted #36: Wonderland Volume One

Image
Article by Sean Wilkinson, a.k.a. The Omnibuster. As I begin November in need of some downtime to consume more media, get ahead of my December content (I'm halfway through Rascal Does Not Dream Of Santa Claus , and drafting its review, which is why I've just started editing this Omnibusted compilation the Monday before publication), and prepare for the very real possibility that Presidential stubbornness and partisan warfare will take a chainsaw to my financial stability because the majority population of my county, and my employer's customer base (who openly support, and voted twice for, the Great Pumpkin—there are multiple prominent signs in my town to that effect that would likewise benefit from a good chainsawing) are on government assistance (which no longer exists because no one currently in power has ever won Jenga before), I once again find myself at a loss for words when it comes to a proper editing job that requires more effort than the average ComiXology Trad...
