Fan Theory Friday: Spidey vs. Chucky

You're probably wondering about the title (and confused by the clickbait potential of a Spider-Man/Chucky crossover), and there is a very greedy motivation behind it. Basically, I was planning to do a second Theoretical Thursday, but BlogPros is limited to propagating one post per day, so I went with Fan Theory Friday instead.
With regard to the "Spidey vs. Chucky" portion, there is no possibility of such a crossover ever existing with any degree of seriousness, quality, or legal feasibility, nor am I going to pit theories from these two intellectual properties against each other. As with most polarizing creative choices, I picked it because it looked cool.
So first and most popular right now, the official teaser trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home dropped this week:
And, "Hello, Peter," is it a doozy!
While everyone is jumping at shadows, blurs, and reflections that only last for a blink at a time, seeing Venom or the Lizard through a window, or a distorted human face in a swath of kicked-up Sand, man, I'm choosing to look at the obvious. Alfred Molina is confirmed and de-aged as Doctor Octopus, as is my theory that his solar fusion machine from Spider-Man 2 tore a hole into the MCU and sucked him through. Wilem Dafoe's laugh is in the trailer, and so is the Green Goblin's pumpkin bomb from Spider-Man. Dafoe was even added to the cast list on both IMDB and Wikipedia after the trailer hit social media. And although Electro isn't featured in the trailer, Jamie Foxx has been listed in those same credits as Electro since before No Way Home even had a title, and there are lightning strikes all over the trailer. So either ASM 2 Electro has jumped Universes, or this is another massive Marvel troll to keep the speculators in check and Jamie Foxx is playing a Thor Variant. Will the Boehner strike again? I hope not, and according to the latest episode of What If...?, "It's all about Hope!"
By the way, did anyone besides me hear, "It's all about Hulk," or am I just resting on my Yannis? Please comment....
According to Bob Chipman, NewRockstars, and Heavy Spoilers, No Way Home is taking inspiration from the Spider-Man stories, "One More Day," "One Moment In Time," and "Happy Birthday," for Doctor Strange's involvement in events. I have not read those stories to be able to speak competently on their use as inspiration, so check out the three channels I just mentioned for a more knowledgeable explanation of that subject matter.
What I can speak to are the hints to my favorite theory about Doctor Strange himself. Specifically, why Strange is acting so Strangely un-Strange-like. And that theory is: Strange is Agatha Harkness in disguise. I don't think that every shot of Strange in the trailer is her with a glamour on; the scenes of him chasing and fighting with Peter are probably post-spell, and it's the real Strange in one of those Avengers/Civil War, hero-on-hero battles that takes place before the the real Dark Souls begins. But before and during the spell that is supposed to erase everyone's memories of Peter's secret identity, but instead/also rips the butt-seam of the Multiverse wide open, I think it'll be Agatha all along. Strange winks at the camera like Agatha did, he uses the same glowing hair method that he did with Thor in Ragnarok, which Agatha also used for a memory-based spell in the "Previously On" episode of WandaVision. Also--and this is less Marvel evidence than the mechanics of pop-culture magic--the informal address scene where Peter calls him Stephen could be playing with the concept of True Names, unwittingly giving Agatha access to the Sorcerer Supreme's full powers. There is also much conversation about why Strange is wearing the Eye of Agamotto in the trailer. This could be just a cosmetic effect of Agatha taking his form, or it could be the real Doctor Strange from Infinity War during his tour of the 14 million-plus timelines, or a Strange Variant who never experienced Infinity War or Endgame's events, and so never lost the Eye. Of course, based on Loki's established mechanic of Universe-specific Infinity Stones, they would be useless here even if they were real..., unless the Time Stone has a direct connection to He Who Remains, which I theorized in this post. The box that Strange and Peter are seen with at one point (which has similar coloring and accents to the Eye necklace) is thought by one source to be a Pandora's Box-like configuration that opens on the "Void" which served as the setting for an episode of Loki. For further evidence of the Time Stone/HWR connection, look at these two images:
It sure looks like He Who Remains/Kang is also wearing a gold, eye-shaped necklace, doesn't it? Am I stretching? Maybe. But maybe not. That's the beauty of theory and fiction, after all. It doesn't have to be canon until it either is or isn't, and what isn't canon has the potential to become canon later, anyway.
That's all I wanted to say regarding the No Way Home trailer, so let's talk Chucky casting news! Yes, after seven movies of varying quality, which I covered in previous posts ("Chucky Gets Chyermidaydit" and "Chucky's Cult Following"), a limited streaming series, simply titled, Chucky, has recently wrapped filming and is scheduled for an October 12 release date on SyFy-affiliated services like Hulu, as well as the network itself. In addition to Chucky (Brad Dourif--and Fiona Dourif as a Chucky copy in Nica Pierce's body) and Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) returning as the main antagonists, series protagonists Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent) and Kyle (Christine Elise McCarthy) are set to return as well. But I have a theory that brings back a/two obscure character(s) that haven't been seen in the franchise for a long time. Devon Sawa (Final Destination) is set to play twins Logan and Lucas Wheeler in the series, whom sources say have foster parents that are harboring a dark secret about his origins. Fans of the franchise might remember (and/or wish they could forget) Chucky and Tiffany's disassociative, gender-fluid saughnter, Glen/da, who got reincarnated at the end of Seed Of Chucky as...TWINS. So could Logan and Lucas be the Glen/da twins all grown up? And which one will end up going all Sleepaway Camp on the rest of the cast? We'll have to wait and see!
Until then, stay tuned for more content and keep those views coming! Maybe some comments, too?
